Samantha Yabut (she/her) is a film editor and assistant editor based in Toronto, Ontario.

She graduated from Sheridan College's Bachelor of Film and Television program in 2021, where she specialized in film editing and production management.

 

In her third year, she had the opportunity to edit several short documentaries such as On the Fence which is currently streaming on CBC Gem, was part of the 2021 Women in Film & Television Showcase, and was recently selected to screen at Reelworld Film Festival, Canadian Film Festival, and Vancouver International Women in Film Festival. She produced and edited Animal Calling which has been selected to play at Northwest Fest, Rendezvous with Madness, DOCUTAH, and more.

Samantha loves working in all aspects of the film industry and has extensive experience working as a production coordinator, assistant editor, and picture editor on numerous projects ranging from feature films, TV series, commercials, music videos, and short films.

Samantha's most recent projects include Border2Border Entertainment's Dating Unlocked Season 2 and Drag Heals Season 4. Previously, she worked as a 1st Assistant Editor for true-crime series streaming on Paramount's BET+ and NCB's Oxygen network.

​

Looking ahead, Samantha hopes to continue working in the post-production field and become a post-production supervisor for large-scale productions in film and television.
